Natural Product Spotlight: Zoya Nail Polish

Getting your nails done can be a wonderful, pampering, self-care treat!  I've enjoyed it for years without a second though. Then I had my children. And as they've grown, I watched my daughter come to love all of the things that Momma loves - including her pretty nails! And if you've ever painted your child's nails, you know approximately 5 minutes later a good portion of that polish is mysteriously gone!  Where does it go? Picked and chewed and gulp...ingested! Suddenly years of meticulous organic baby food making and healthy meal prep flashes before my eyes as I realize the chemicals that have just gone into her tiny body! Just as I've studied and researched the best natural baby shampoos and lotions as my children have grown, I'm now on a mission to find a better, natural nail product.  Not just for my children, but for my own health and my clients as well!

This is how I came to first hear the term "5 free" a few years back.  5 free nail products are free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin and camphor - the big five offending toxins found in traditional nail polishes.

But as a professional providing a service to my client, I'm always concerned with a products performance.  "Will it last?" is the most common question with nail polish.  No one wants to spend hard earned $$ on a great manicure (natural or not) only for it to chip the very next day. So I set out to find, not only a 5 free product, but also a professional product that delivered salon quality results.

10 free formula: free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor, TPHP, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide or lead.  Combine that with the cutting edge technology of their color lock system  ($10) and you have a natural manicure that will last 7-10 days with no chipping.

Zoya polishes retail for about $10 each depending on retailer but they also offer gift sets and multi packs which can save you bundles.  Check out zoya.com to learn more.
