Behind the Scenes: CBD inspired styled shoot
Let’s talk hot trends for a minute. Some trends last no more than a second and some have proven staying power. Right now there is no hotter trend in the world’s of wellness, beauty and even pets than CBD. And I’m going to bet this one isn’t going away any time soon!
You’ve probably seen CBD shops popping up on every corner. So what is CBD?
CBD is a cannabinoid produced from the cannabis plant. It contains all of the beneficial components of the marijuana plant without any of the THC ( the psychoactive stuff that gets you high.)
CBD has so many natural benefits including pain relief, anti inflammation, anxiety relief and improved sleep, just to name a few. It’s no wonder it’s completely set the wellness world on fire in recent years. And, I’ve always said, beauty and wellness go hand & hand! So it’s only natural that we are seeing both natural and mainstream beauty companies embracing all things CBD as well.
Recently I was asked to collaborate on a styled bridal shoot where the common theme was CBD. I have to admit, I was excited. I’ve done months of my own research on CBD and I’m loving the results of implementing it into my own daily wellness practice.
Naturally, I couldn’t wait to put my personal spin on the beauty side of this trend and see what we would create.
Can you imagine a natural themed wedding? Sustainable and green? CBD infused into your cocktails and cakes and pastries? I think this is a wonderful, thoroughly modern trend! There are so many way to implement these ideas into your special day.

Getting our model ready for her natural bridal looks. I chose to use some of my favorite natural beauty lines such as Kett Cosmetics, PYT Beauty, Jane Iredale and Kevin Murphy for hair. Thank you to Olga’s Organics for donating a few new products for me to try. They are great additional to my natural, cruelty-free kit!
While all the looks were beautiful… I’m not gonna lie! This hand dyed, custom green creation was my personal favorite. It was just so special and unique. If you are looking for one-of-a-kind, sustainable fashion, check out Anna Colleen Banko.
Her Kata Banko Couture accessories and jewelry were the perfect complement to her fashions.

Special thanks to our model Nova for being my muse all day!
And none of this magic would have been possible without Alex Perry of Perry Rose Media coordinating the entire event.
